Hard, angular, multi-purpose abrasive

Brown aluminium oxide (brown fused alumina) is produced by melting bauxite in high-temperature electric arc furnaces. Thanks to its hard and angular structure, it is one of the most widely used abrasives in industrial blasting.

Besides dry and wet blasting, it is used in the manufacture of grinding stones and abrasive paper. Its wide grain range covers everything from coarse cleaning to fine surface preparation.

Chemical composition: Al₂O₃ > 95%, Fe₂O₃ < 0.3%, SiO₂ < 1.2%
Hardness: Mohs 9
Density: Approx. 3.9 g/cm³
Colour: Brown
