Pink aluminium oxide is obtained by fusing calcined alumina with a certain proportion of chromium ore in electric furnaces. Its high hardness provides good cutting quality.
Grinding stones made from this material are used for grinding metrological instruments, engine shafts and precision parts. It is also preferred for precision mould cleaning and special blasting work.
